Archbishop Sentamu Academy

Back to projects

Archbishop Sentamu Academy is a £34million development built by Morgan Sindall and was the first scheme to be designed and constructed through Hull’s once in a generation Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme.

The building has been designed to create a modern, future-proof learning environment taking advantage of renewable and other ‘green’ technologies such as biomass generation for heating and harvesting rainwater for flushing toilets.  At the same time, key elements of the school have been designed with an emphasis on business and enterprise.

Archbishop Sentamu Academy is a new kind of school for a new age, sponsored by the Church of England Diocese of York and dedicated to providing a 21st Century learning environment that expands choices and opportunities for its students.
